Alex Picot Trust’s Director, Chris Cotillard recently travelled to North Africa to join fellow Kreston International members for the Kreston EMEA Conference in Marrakech.
The annual event offered members of the global accountancy network a chance to join together to share insights, hear updates from the Kreston International team and make connections with colleagues from the network which reaches across 113 countries.
Chris said: “As a Jersey trust company with clients around the world our Kreston membership is really valuable in ensuring we have a global reach and access to jurisdictional expertise. It’s always a pleasure to attend the conferences and the speakers were as always very insightful.
"The EMEA Conference was a great opportunity to build a better understanding of Morocco's economy and about doing business in the region. I took part in some particularly interesting breakout sessions discussing international tax issues, while having the chance to talk about what Jersey has to offer including the offshore trust and company services that we provide.”
A visit to Morocco wouldn’t be complete without some sightseeing of the old city and the agenda for the three-day conference allowed for Chris and his fellow delegates to get out and about and experience Marrakech. They were treated to a guided walk around the Medina, a choice of quad biking or a camel ride in the desert and during a spectacular final evening, they enjoyed an introduction to local delicacies with plenty of traditional after-dinner Moroccan entertainment.
